These factors weaken a young person’s ability to learn, develop and access opportunities. Initial Teacher Education and Training courses take between three to four years to complete. Bachelor of Education degrees are a popular route for prospective primary school teachers, but some universities do offer secondary-level BEd programmes for some specialisms.

Education creates the voice through which other rights can be claimed and protected. We delight in the beauty and creative power of science, technology, engineering, and math, and we make a special effort to spark that same passion in students from kindergarten through high school — in school, after school, and over the summer. Locally, we engage students, teachers, and families with a range of hands-on K-12 offerings, from structured field trips to MIT’s Edgerton Centerto programs designed to encourage girls in their love of technology and science. We also offer an array of resources for teachers, to help them make science and engineering easy to grasp and irresistibly interesting. The hidden curriculum is never formally taught but it is implied in the expectation that those who accept the formal curriculum, institutional routines, and grading methods will be successful in school.

The major factors affecting education systems are the resources and money that are utilized to support those systems in different nations. As you might expect, a country’s wealth has much to do with the amount of money spent on education. Countries that do not have such basic amenities as running water are unable to support robust education systems or, in many cases, any formal schooling at all. The result of this worldwide educational inequality is a social concern for many countries, including Canada.
